Marianne I loved this. Here's my dna chuckle too...

I was very enthusiastic about the start of our DNA project and since the
last living male Pyatt in my line is my dad, I grabbed the phone and called
him. After the hellos and finding everyone fine, I blurted out "If I send
you a dna kit will you take the test?"

There was a bit of a long silence...

Then he sighed and said, "Of course. What's wrong?"

When I stopped laughing I explained the whole thing to him and he
enthusiastically agreed and this sample has been sent in.

SOOOOO fellow researchers....what's your dna story? Anyone else going to
fess up' to involvement?

We decided that as participants in the Piatt DNA study that my six year old
would provide the specimens. I also thought it would be a neat 'Show and
Tell' for him for school tomorrow - so - we took pictures. I went by a local
one-hour photo and asked the owner (we discuss genealogy a lot as he
restores my old photos) if he would mind printing out the last three photos
on white paper for me so that Beau could use it for Show and Tell. I told
the girl writing down the instructions that he was in white pajamas and
looked like he was using a toothbrush - but that it was really a DNA brush
that he was using to collect a DNA specimen. Then, someone interrupted to
ask what year my Suburban was and made go outside with them so that I could
show them the interior. As I was driving away, it occurred to me that I
never told them why Beau was submitting his DNA. The only logical reason to
most people would be that I was trying to determine who his father is!! Have
