There has long been a speculation that Benjamin and Hannah (Bowlsby) Piatt
are the parents of William and David. James Bowlesby is the son of Hannah's
older brother, John (per John Keilch). This strengthens the speculation.
There are only 3 references to Piatt's in Stark, Holmes, and Wayne counties
and none in Columbiana County - for the time period 1830-1860.
Stark County: David and Hannah Piatt in the 1840 Census
Holmes: Nathaniel and Nancy (Ritter) Piatt's marriage in 1849
Wayne: William and Hannah Piatt in the 1850 census.
