Subject: [PIATT] website update

Hi cousins!
Just dropping a line to let you know there have been many additions to www
piattresearchers.net lately. Several census indexes for all the possible
spellings of Piatt I could think of are now available through 1910--this
information was gleaned from Ancestry.com indexes which are not yet complete
but you may find a jewel there anyway.
Ive closed the bulletin board option for the site as we seem to have plenty
on other servers and there doesnt appear to be a need for another.
piattresearchers.net has recieved over 500 unique hits (visits by browsers,
dual hits in a 24 hour period from the same IP address are not counted)
since it went public just 5 months ago. Im completely amazed.
There are now over 12000 individuals in the Master Gedcom which is fully
searchable. This database is a HUGE beast and I constantly update and add
to it, as well as weeding out obvious errors. I upload the new information
about every three months and will do an upload soon, so if you wish to have
your family information in the next upload please send it to me at
as soon as possible.
I also want to publicly thank Marianne for her assistance. There have been
those who have suggested that I am competing with her website. Let me
assure you, that is NOT the case. She is a fabulous researcher and our
sites are considerably different. She also graciously allows me to use her
material as needed, and there are links to hers from piattresearchers.net.
She and I correspond frequently (Ive discovered we have alot in common!)
and I value her input and support. Now if we can just get her to the
conference....
Now the big website news. Terry Manning has shared with me his manuscript
of research for his Pyatt line and collateral families. Terry descends from
the elusive William and Mary (Smith) Pyatt's and the work is truly
outstanding. I have posted all manuscript chapters that relate to his Pyatt
lines. By next week I think they will be indexed for the search engine
(Probably Tuesday night). This is an incredible work, and Im sure you all
join me in thanking Terry for making that available. Now if we can just get
him to the conference...
Thanks everyone for all the help. Please visit when you can!
