Hello everyone with PIATT ancestors from Early Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Do you have information about the reunion this summer?
"Mother Cumberland-A Harvest of Memories: Reunion 2003"
A reunion for anyone with an ancestor of any surname who lived in Cumberland
County, PA during the 1700's. This includes any and all counties who trace
their parentage to Cumberland County and counties from which Cumberland was
formed.
Date: July 18, 19, 20, 2003
Place: University of Shippensburg, Cumberland Co., PA
Brief Outline of activities:
Friday the 18th of July
All-day Genealogy Seminar - speakers from all over Pennsylvania
Evening historical program
Individual family meetings
Saturday July 19, 2003
Frontier Settlement, DNA testing (mouthwash swab-NO blood draw), Colonial
crafts and demonstrations all day, Revolutionary and French & Indian War
Military and Ranger units, Living History Presentations and classes all day,
evening historical program.
Sunday July 20, 2003
Ancestral Memorial Service at Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, one of the
oldest in the County. Many of the earliest graves pre-date the Revolution.
For additional information or to receive a Registration Packet, please
me with your mailing address.
FREE activities, classes, covered wagon rides, etc for the children all
weekend. This reunion is designed as a FAMILY event. You won't want to miss
this wonderful opportunity to walk on the land where your ancestors walked,
visit under the shade of their trees and learn about their every-day life.
Remember.... our ancestors lived, worked, fought & prayed side-by-side.
Bring your family, load up the wagon, hitch up the team and
head on home to Mother Cumberland.
