Major Daniel Piatt of the First New Jersey Regiment was one of five Piatt brothers who served in the Revolutionary War. We refer to them as the Five Revolutionary Brothers or Sons (of John Piatt and Frances Van Vliet Wyckoff Piatt). Major Daniel Piatt is said to have been on George Washington's staff. He died in camp at Morristown NJ on 16 April 1780. Masonic services were included in his funeral services and George Washington is said to have attended. We do not know Daniel's place of burial. Even an interpreter at Morristown National Historical Park, who was interested in Major Daniel, did not know his place of burial. Major Daniel has descendants, some of whom are on the PIATT-L list.

Let's all put in our bid on this Geo Washington document.

As to the other item for sale on e-bay concerning land located by William H Piatt of Monticello, Piatt Co IL--I believe the Piatt Co IL Piatts descended from Abraham Piatt who was one of the Five Brothers mentioned above.
