Subject: [PIATT] Piatt items on e-bay
Date: Sun, 21 Dec 2003 04:34:49 +0000
Some interesting items related to Piatt have come up on ebay in the past few days:
1. Item 3571516377: Blue Grass Horse County, a book which contains a picture
of horse breeder Thomas Piatt sold for $87.50.
2. Item 2366169628: Sheet music "Oh! Sing No More That Gentle Song" by D
Piatt, 1847, sold for $5.50 (to me). I promise to have Ed learn the song and
sing it at the next conference. The sheet music came from a large collection
"in upstate New York." I don't yet know who D Piatt was.
3. Item 2210511034: A Civil War era salt dish engraved on the bottom "Camp
Piatt" sold for $147.50.
4. Item 2211238866: A Civil War era tintype of an Ohio Zouave, purported to
have been from the 34th OVI, (Gen. Abram) Piatt's Zouaves. It is a rare
example of the Zouave uniform. There is still a day to go on this item.
Bidding this evening stands at $985.00.
5. Item 2211632446: A Real Picture Postcard (RPPC) of the Log Chapel at the
Piatt Cemetery near the Piatt Castles in Logan Co OH. This chapel no longer
stands but it's foundation is still apparent at the cemetery. With four days
left in the auction the bid is $22.47.
6. Item 3574625384: A new book on the history of Bodie CA and the mines there
by Michael H Piatt. With six days left in the auction this bid is at $37.95.
Items still at auction can be viewed on e-bay but I'm not sure about those
whose auctions have ended. Information about ended auctions remains available
for a length of time but I haven't learned how to access it. I am not bidding
on any of the current auctions.
