Sorry to not be able to make it this year. New Jersey was tops on my list
of places to go! And Ive so enjoyed the last two years. I really really
really encourage anyone who has never attended to go at least once. I
gleaned so much from the research and from the other attendees that I will
be YEARS putting it all together!!!

This information from Laverne about the conference, as well as information
about past conferences is available on our website at www.piattresearchers
net . The graveyard (obits, cemetery lists, etc) section has been growing
like crazy as well. The database is undergoing a revamp and is currently
over 19000 individuals who connect to the Piatt [sic] lines. I hope to have
it complete (complete meaning all the data I currently have that has been
submitted by other researchers will be entered) in time to be useful before
the June conference.

To that end, I cant thank enough those people who have given us the gift of
thier gedcoms. Im finding links between families every day now. For all of
you who have sent in gedcoms and for those here on the list who unscramble
my brain from looking at them, my heartfelt appreciation. Still no daddy
for my William (or my John S?) at this point but Im still hopeful that that
one little piece of information will surface that brings it all together.

Still needed: More gedcoms! If you havent sent one please do. Also need
information on all reunions that are upcoming (Especially Richwood--Im
getting lots of mail on that one)

Im saving for a full copy of the newsletter so I can begin putting that
online as well. We need that resource to be avaible to all researchers!
And after that Im saving for a full set of the Photogravure. Ive also sent
out 14 copies of the Kearney Charts this year. All of these items, as well
as the full index to the PFN have ordering information on the website.
THose of you who are in charge of those things, please let me know if there
have been price changes.

There are two other project in the works for the site, One is a census
index for all released census on the Piatt name. Parts of that are already
available. The other is an index of newspaper articles about Piatts--gives
a short overview of the content of the article as well as the name of the
paper, place published, and date of issue. I continue to be amazed at the
volume of information out there on our lowly family! And of course I go off
on tangents so that makes it slow going. But I have hired someone to
transcribe my handwritten notes from the newspapers so hopefully that will
be available sooner than later.

If anyone has anything they would like to see added to the site or changed,
or has any complaints please feel free to let me know.
