Major Henry Fleisher (William Piatt Flesher's great grandfather) was a
revolutionary war soldier who made his home at the present state line
between Virginia and West Virginia. As of 1992, the home has been owned by
the family for 153 years--current owner in 1992 was William Emmett Fleisher.

Prior to his commission as Major Henry served as 2nd Lt in Captain Peter
HULL's Company, Second BN, Augusta Militia 1779. Henry was the son of Henry
Fleische4 (b 1744 Germany) who came to the US with his parents aboard the
ship "Pheonix"
