Hi Marlene!
John and Mary are buried at Trace Fork Cemetery (Mount Hope Church of God
Cemetery on Trace Fork, just northeast of Ripley, WV), as are John and Mary
(Truax) Piatt. So far we have found no relationships between the two Johns.
Terry Manning (William,John, William Ross, Edward William, Terry) recently
discovered that the one with the headstone is actually the John Piatt who
married Mary Truax. Its currently not established which Mary he is buried
next to. Our John's grave has no stone and is several yards away from the
Trace Fork cemetery.
Photos of some of the Pyatts at Trace Fork can be found at
http://member-webroots.org/deadrelatives/graveyard.html
Elizabeth Buttler Snyder is also burried in this cemetery. I list her
husbands father as Levi Snyder of Roane County, but that is suppositional.
If you have any further Snyder stuff I would gladly accept it!
Im currently trying to figure out why John S and John of Ohio both settled
in Jackson County. They lived geographically very close to each other and
were about the same age. There is absolutely no way they could not have at
least known each other.
If any listers know how to get ahold of the Mount Hope Church records I
would be interested--It would appear that both families attended there.
Robin

Robin, This is Marlene ,you and I are from the same Pyatt line and I am
from that Snyder line also. WHAT cemetery are John and Mary buried at? I
have heard different ones and this past summer my sister and I were all
over the county and couldn't find them. Marlene Harden
