Dave,
Certainly there is a mix-up somewhere with your email of 1/3/2004. I have
returned home from our winter home in Florida and recently reviewed this with my
records.
I do believe that Thomas Pyatt, born 1731-32, died 3/20/1760, married 1756(?)
to Martha Drake, born 11/3/1727, is the one buried in the old graveyard. I
have often surmised that Martha may have remarried unless she had died previous
to Thomas. This Thomas is definitely the son of James and Ruth Pyatt.
But, I do not think Martha Langstaff, born 1734-35, died 7/28/1817, was the
wife of the above Thomas Pyatt unless Martha Drake died previously and Thomas
married secondly to Martha Langstaff. This could be the reason Thomas marriage
is stated as 1756. But, then why would her tombstone state Martha Langstaff
and not Pyatt?
This Thomas above lived around the family. However, there is a possibility
there was another Thomas, like the son of RENE PYATT, who may have been
traveling about and getting into trouble with the law, like his brother Jacob, who
moved on to PA.
Much more research needed on this part of the family!
