Hi Laverne and David,
Well, I am going to throw my two cents in here on this one even though you
may not be interested in my comments on the people you mention in the cemetery
in the order stated.
First, Mrs. Thomas Pyaat, she did NOT die March 20, 1760. This is in error,
more later.
Second, Experience S. Dunn. She was the daughter of Lewis and Rachel Dunn,
Rachel
being the daughter of Ephraim and Mercy Pyatt.
Third, Ruth, correct as stated.
Fourth, James Piatt, correct data, husband of Ruth above, and son of Thomas
and Mercy
Hull Pyatt.
Fifth, James Pyatt, son of James and Ruth Pyatt above.
Sixth, Eliza, wife of James Piatt son of James and Ruth Pyatt above.
Regarding the first one you mention, Mrs. Thomas Pyaat. March 20, 1760 is
the date of death of her husband Thomas Pyatt. This comes from the WILL of
Thomas Pyatt. Thomas and his wife MARTHA had one son, ASA. It is my feeling that
Martha then married secondly Mr. Langstaff. It is possible that this was John
Langstaff. It could be in error that the stone is incorrect and she was not
the daughter of John Langstaff but the husband of John Langstaff. More
research is needed on this point.
