Subject: Answers to questions regarding 2005 conference
Date: Thu, 15 Jul 2004 17:31:47 -0600
There have been a couple of questions asked about the facilities at the
University of Utah and I thought you all might like to know the answers.
1.Bed linens, blankets, towels and pillows are included in the
price of we pay per person. Towels and wash cloths can be exchanged
daily, if that is your personal preference-- again, at no extra charge.
2.The facility is air-conditioned, so you needn't worry about fans
or other means to cool off your room.
3.Each building has its own coin-operated laundry.
4.Meeting rooms or lounges are available for our evening chats and
reports of daily activities.
5.The dorms are approximately 1 to 1-1/2 miles east of the Family
History Library and downtown Salt Lake, up on the east bench of the
city. The University of Utah campus is only a mile or so from This is
the Place State Park, which is really more of a working museum (it has
no camping facilities), the Hogle Zoo, and Red Butte Gardens, which is a
large botanical garden. (The campus is also 20-25 minutes from all of
the sites and venues at Park City.)
It is looking like you won't need to bring anything other than
yourselves, clothes to wear, those personal things like a toothbrush and
deodorant, and any research notes that you may require.
I think we're going to have enough west coast people here, that
transportation doesn't look like it will be a problem, should the east
coast people prefer to fly-- unless people plan to do some additional
vacationing before or after the conference. If people want to fly to
Salt Lake and do some sightseeing during the week, there are lots of
things to do and see that are within a short drive.
If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me. Marci has
even been so kind as to give me her cell phone number so that I can call
her on weekends, as well as at the office!
Thanks for all your interest!
