Interesting discoveries in the 1810 Census for Virginia.

In Loudoun County;
Timothy Payett (born before 1766)
Jno Pyott (born before 1766)

In Augusta County;
Benjamin Peatt (born between 1775 and 1785)

In Hampshire County;
Elizabeth Peatt (born between 1775 and 1785. She lives completely alone)
William Peatt (born between 1766 and 1784) I believe this to be my line.
Census shows him with one male under 10, two females under 10, and a wife
26-44.

William is living between Mary Smith and William Smith. This Mary is over
45 so is not Williams (second?) wife. In her household are one male 10-15
and no other children.

WIlliam Smith household has 2 males under 10, 2 males 10-15, William who is
26-44, two females under 10, and his wife who is 26-44

Also in this county is Elias Smith, age 16-25 living by himself.

Loudoun, Frederick, and Hampshire counties were adjacent. (Loudoun was
furthest east, Hampshire furthest west)

Also interesting to note is the household of Martin Smith in Frederick
County. In this household is one male under 10, 2 males 10-15, Martin who
was 26-44, three females under 10, one female 10-15, one female 16-25, and
Mrs Smith 26-44. I believe this is the most likely candidate for the Martin
Smith who fathered Mary, wife of William Peatt. There is a Martin in
Cumberland County, VA but he has no daughters of the right age to have
married in 1814. Martin Smith in Augusta County and Martin Smith in Prince
Edward County still need further investigation.

One Marton Smith was found in Maryland with a daughter in the right agegroup
This family is in Dorchester County (eastern shore of the bay) and the
distance and difficulty of travel make this Marton an unlikely choice.

One Marten Smith of Rowan County, NC has a daughter of the right age, but
the Martin Smith of Chatham County NC does not.

Several Martin Smiths were in Kentucky but all were ruled out.

If anyone has a Timothy Peatt born before 1766 I would be most interested in
learning more about him.
