This is directed mainly to Laverne:
Do you suppose that your Moses Piatt (an earlier e-mail), that married
Elizabeth PARKER , could be a second marriage for Moses? Maybe my Eliz
Hannah was the first daughter and then her mother (Jane Smith), died? Is
this too far fetched?
I recently talked to Ralph and Margaret Armfield , they live in Beloit WI.
They are related to Hannah Piatt Armfield.
Ralph's grt grd father was brother to Florence Armfield, both children of
Hannah and Isaac Armfield.
Margaret said that she remembered the name PARKER and also the family was
related to the TAYLOR'S also. But she can't remember how. I never mentioned
the names to her. I sure hope she remembers more.
What's your thoughts on this? Anyone else?
Anita

Subject: Re: [PIATT] Has anyone read this one?--John James Piatt

> John James Piatt was a poet of some renown during his day, but he kept his
day job and was counsul to Ireland for a while. His wife Sarah Morgan Bryan
Piatt was also a published poet. Her work is seeing a renewed interest and
one or two scholarly books have recently been published about her. She was
related to Daniel Boone through her father Morgan Bryan, if I remember
correctly. Daniel Boone's wife was Rebecca Bryan.

held by the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus OH, contain some Piatt
papers among them. These papers refer to the Castle line of Piatts as there
were three marriages between that line of Piatts and the Worthington family.
One diary contains the notation "Crisis! Went over to Ella's." Likely this
was Ella Piatt Kirby and one wonders what kind of crisis could intrude into
the pleasant Mac-O-Chee Valley.
