Hi Dan,
I am glad someone else is interested in the Pyatt
family's pre-American days. I have been wanting to ask
if anyone else can trace their Pyatt ancestors to
England. In my family, the Pyatt/Pyett) name was gone
by the time they arrived in America. My most recent
Pyett relative is Lucienda Pyett, (b. 1832) in
Brantham, Suffolk, England and the furthest back I
have found is a Johannis (b. 1661) and Mariae Pyet in
Thorndon, Suffolk, England. Does this sound familiar
to you, Dan... or to anyone else?

All the information I have about the Pyatt's Hugeunot
roots I have gotten from these sites:
www.member-webroots.org/deadrelatives/allg942.htm
www.angelfire.com/ar/pyeatt/JohannisP.html
(maybe these sites actually belong to someone on the
list?!)

One of the sites has this bit:
The [Hugeunot] fugitives [including Rene Piatt] went
first to Holland, and from the Netherlands to America
by way of England.
I wonder if my English relative was a brother to Rene?
I have not done much research on my Pyett relatives,
so most of what I have has been passed to me from
others. If anyone is interested in the English Pyatts
I will look up my sources.

Heather
