Hi Marlene--
Actually I have found 11, possibly 12. Its really confusing given all the
Piatts in the county, but the 1880 Census lists 7, the database shows three
more born after 1880, plus one (Betsy) with an unknown date of brith and a
marriage to a Mr Briggs, and an unknown daughter who married a Richard
Campbell.
John #2 (with wife Nancy Williams) had 4 kids
Our John S (with Mary Margaret Snyder) had 13.
Much of the research on these folks was done very early in my lifetime by
wonderful but untrained researchers. Im finding the study of these three
John Piatts of Jackson County to be full of inconsistencies, absurdities,
and just plain made-up stuff. If I ever get around to getting my
certification I think I may do a paper on this bunch!

Robin,
How many kids does it say John and Mary Truax had? From what I could make
out in his pension file they only had three.
