Description:
The Native Soil, founded in 1997 in Massachusetts, is dedicated to the
preservation of old documents, particularly private property deeds. This
database is a collection of over 2300 such privately-held documents as deeds
sales receipts, court dockets, and manuscripts dating back to the early
18th Century. Each record provides descriptive information from the original
document including type of document, individuals involved, location, and
year. In some cases these documents are the only surviving records of
particular individuals, making this an invaluable collection. Unfortunately
The Native Soil" is no longer making these documents available. Ancestry.com
has, however, decided to continue to make this index available for searching
