One last post to the list this evening. Our list administrator Christine has become quite busy in her career and, as of last month, gave the administrative duties of the PIATT and PYATT lists to me. Between running over the country having fun and chasing grandsons I have just now begun to learn what all is involved in administering the lists. I don't think there have been any problems in the interim as the Piatt listers are very nice folks.

One thing I'd like to mention:

The Piatt/Pyatt list is a valuable resource for future researchers because we have kept so much discussion on the list. Too often when I research the archive of another list I see something such as "I am your great-aunt's granddaughter and I have all the family information. E-mail me." Then the discussion goes off-list and nothing is recorded in the archive of the list except the initial question. What a shame. But the Piatt list has not done that and I would encourage everyone to keep genealogical discussions on-list (unless it has something to do with why unlucky Uncle Zeb won't make parole again this time either, of course). So keep up the good work.

I hope to learn a lot about list administration this week and if anyone has a question or suggestion just let me know.
