Hello All!
I'm new to this board and this is my first posting! I've been overwhelmed
by all the links connected to this and related sites! In a very short time
I've been able to trace my roots back to Philip de la Piatt (b.1750), as
well as most of his descendants! ... very exciting!
I was very fortunate to find a memoir in my great uncles house that was
written by my ggg grandfather (James Piatt, b.2/25/1824, Tompkins County,
NY; d. 5/12/1918) sometime after 1900. In it he accounted for our lineage
from Philip till that time. Using this knowledge I was able to quickly
connect my family with the research you and many like you have already spent
years collecting! Thank you all !!
I haven't accumulated the wealth of information or databases many of you use
as of yet, so I may at times ask for redundant information that you may have
already given out many times ... please bare with me. I hope to one day be
as adept at this as many of you.
Dick Piatt and I share the same earliest known common ancestor Philip de la
Piatt (b. 1750). After that we both descend from Philip's Sons ("Asa", Me &
"Isaiah", Dick). I'm rather confident that Dick, with over 40 years of
research under his belt, has researched most avenues and turns of our branch
of the Piatt family. Hopefully one day we will be able to find that missing
link to connect our family with Renee!!
At this point I am focusing on somewhat close family branches that we have
lost contact with over the past 40 or so years. I am hoping that one of you
may have a database or information that will allow us to find these missing
relatives.

Question:
I need any/all information on the following people:
James Francis Piatt
b. 10/18/1876
d. 4/7/1964
James Weldon Piatt
b. 8/29/1900
d. ???
Mark Piatt
unknown
************************************
James Francis (Uncle Jim) was the Brother of my great grandfather:
(Albert Bernard Piatt, b. 3/4/1890 - Erie County, PA; d. 9/12/1934)
Each of these three people are father to the next on the list. My father
attended James Francis Piatt's funeral back in 1964 as a teenager, but lost
contact with his cousins sometime after that. James Weldon would of course
be dead by now, but his son Mark may still be alive. No one alive in my
extended family knows the location of anyone from this branch.
James Francis I believe died near Moorehead City, NC, but may have been sent
back to Honesdale, PA for burial. This was a common practice in my family
up until my Great Grandparents.
Any help you could provide me in finding this lost branch would be
appreciated!!
Thanks!!
