I looked at the 1860 census for Marion Co OH, Prospect Twp and found George and Nancy Moyer with the two Pains in the household. Ancestry's indexer read the name as Daley Pain but if you look at the original image I think you can see the name as Daby--a variation of Debby--which would fit with Debroh Paine.

I don' t know any more about Paines or Weavers or Shermans at this time. However, may I offer a suggestion for further research? It seems to me that the Marion Co OH library has a great many court records on microfilm. If you could find a volunteer researcher to check some specific records for you such as marriages for Weaver-Paine or Sherman-Paine or whatever it might be beneficial. Also Debroh Paine probably didn't live much longer after 1860. I found a death record for a Hannah Piatt Thomas (d/o Stephen and Mary McConnell Piatt) for 1872 on microfilm at the Marion Co Library. There was much detail in the death record. If Debroh Paine died in Marion Co it may be that her death record is also in the library. If there was an estate settlement for Debroh her surviving children and also (grand)children of deceased children should be named. And the cemetery listings should provide information, too.

You might try subscribing to the Marion Co OH list at rootsweb.com and posting a request for research there. The Marion Co Courthouse may have a list of researchers for hire, too.

Back to little Wilson, aged 3 in 1850, and whether his surname is Sherman or Weaver. I still don't know but two houses away from Daby Pain in 1860 is the family of Chester Sherman, 57, born Vermont, with a 40 year old wife Martha A, born Ohio. Is Martha A another Paine?

This seems to be an interesting family and I have a feeling that many more records can be gleaned about them from the collection of court records in Marion Co OH.
