Dear Nancy,
George K. Reeb b. 7 May 1885 (was my grandfather)>Katharine Reeb b. 30 Oct.
1863>Catharina Reeb b. 27 Mar 1824>Johann Heinrich Reeb b. 10 Aug. 1800>Johann
Nicholaus Reeb b. 7 Mar. 1776>Johann Heinrich Reeb ch. 10 Sep. 1732>Johannes Reeb ch.

Feb. 1697>Johann Theobald Reeb ch. 1 May 1653>Heinrich Reeb b. 1602 d. 7 Jan. 1678
Keskastel.
George F. Reeb b. 1868 was a half brother to my Katharine b. 30 Oct. 1863. Her
mother, Catharina, died in 1863 with her birth; and her father re-married Catharina
Magdalena Erlenbach. With this remarriage three other children were born; the other
two half siblings to my great grandmother born to that marriage: Sophie b. 1872 (who
never married) and Charlotte b. 1866. Charlotte married George Reeb b. 1856. The
three half siblings to my Katharine all emigrated to the U.S. and all lived in Polk
Co. When my grandfather, George K., came to NE, he lived with George and Charlotte
and worked as a farm laborer.
I have been told these middle initials were *only* added in America to help eliminate
the confusion of three George Reebs all in Polk Co. The oldest George did not take an
initial. George b. 1868 took the first letter of his father's name, "F.", and George
b. 1885 took the first letter of his mother's name, "K.".
Hope this helps. I'm confident John can send you an Ahnentafel. I don't have my
Reeb family entered into my genealogy program.
Lovingly,
Gail in NE
