Although, I wish to correspond via our individual email addresses, I felt
this initial response to your message would benefit the list, especially
those researching Capt. John Reed's descendents and ancestry.

*Samuel REED who m. *Sarah KELLOGG (most common progenitor with my line).
My line of REED's came from Wendron, Cornwall, Eng. <*James REED/REID??? b.
there abt. 1606???>; his son, *John REED, Sr. b. there 16 Mar 1632/33, in
abt. 1660, he "fled to
this country on the restoration of Charles II", apparently living for a time
in Rye, NY and settling in Norwalk, CT;

I too descend from Capt. John Reed of Norwalk, CT. However, we diverge at
John's children. Where your line descends from John Jr., I descend from
Thomas Reed, also John's son and John Jr.'s brother. Thomas married Mary
Olmstead in CT. the rest of the line can be discerned from my signature
line.

The purpose of this note is to ask what your source is for John Sr.
parentage in England. John Sr. seems to be the end of the data line for me.
I have had no luck finding information on John's family or ancestry. Other
than the information about his fleeing england and coming to America. Do
you have his spouse information. Apparently he married twice, both times to
widows. First a Mrs. Ann Derby, and second a Mrs. Scofield.
