'm wondering if anyone has solved the mystery of where the Rea's come from?
And if they were really Campbells?

My brick wall is at Samuel Rhea (1724-1811) who married Eleanor Snodgrass in
Ireland. I believe his father's name was Matthew, who married Elizabeth
McLean and Mary Lockhart. Does anyone have any proof of this or any
information on where to go from there?

I have all my ancestors documented from me to Samuel Rhea, but would like to
go further back.

This is my line:
Samuel Rhea (1724/25 to 1811)
Samuel Rea (1762-1813)
Samuel Rea, Jr., (1792-1883)
George Rea (1823-1888)
Elizabeth Hannah Rea (1845-1939)
Darius Rea Sanford (1879-1960)
Charles Rea Sanford (1919 -
me

The Rea name has continued through my family--my brother was Roderick Rea
Sanford. His son is a Junior. And Junior just gave his newborn daughter the
middle name of Rea as well.
