Hello: Just a comment about all the RHEA families--I wonder why all of them
named their children JOHN RHEA, JAMES RHEA, ANN RHEA, HANNAH RHEA, David Rhea
and the like My line starts with Robert and Jannet (Janet) Hampton Rhea in
Monmouth, NJ. Who were Robert's parents? Thanks to a researcher in NJ, I
have been able to trace my Rhea line in America, but I have no idea who his
parents were in Scotland or Ireland. I know they were Covenant
Presbyterians. I know that my third great grandfather, John R. Rhea's
birth was recorded in the records of the Second Presbyterian Church of
Philadelphia. Also, the birth of his brothers and sisters are listed. His
father, John Rhea who moved to Philadelphia from Monmouth County, was the son
of David Rhea who was the only son of Robert and Jannet Hampton Rhea. There
were sisters and their marriages are listed in the installments sent by
Marchion. Again, is it possible that all the given names are the same or
similar because they are related and are following the typical Scottish
Naming Patterns? Maybe the various distinct lines will connect one of these
days. (Martha Henagan Luby)
