Lois; My Fraga's are Portuguese. They are from the Azores Islands. There
is ever possibility that they had relatives who immigrated to Brazil as many
Portuguese siblings went off in different directions when they decided to
leave the Azores for a "better" life. My grandfather was Antonio Fraga,
born about 1876 his parents were Manuel Jose Fraga born about 1852 & Anna
Emilia Silva Fraga or possibly Jose Manuel Fraga, Manuel Jose Fraga's
parents were Manuel born (my guess is) about 1835 & Marianna. My
grandfather, who was born in Providence, Rhode Island married Filomena Faria
who was born in Pedro Miguel, Faial, Azores and they immigrated to Santa
Clara, CA in 1920.
If there is any chance of a connection I would be most happy to explore it
as I have been at a brick wall for a very long time on this branch of the
family.

What nationality are your Fraga's? I have neighbors with that surname here
in
Boca Raton, FL who are from Brazil. If you are interested I may be able to

I checked the RI Roots CD for the Fraga surname and didn't find any listing
in the index.
