Subject: [RIGENWEB] Death info - Joseph BELISLE b.1836 - d. ????

Hi List,

I am looking for the death of Joseph Rotureau dit BELISLE. According to the
1881 Canada census, he was born in 1836. He was 9 years older than his wife
Rosalie SEGUIN-BELISLE. He and Rosalie had 11 children, most of whom were
born in Canada but some were born in the States.

Joseph and Rosalie came into the States through Maine. Many of the children
eventually settled in the Lowell and Fall River areas of MA. I am getting
my information from my 82 year old mother. I am trying to find the place of
death for her. Joseph was her grandfather.

According to my mother, Joseph and Rosalie lived for a while in RI. I am
wondering if Joseph died here sometime between 1900 and 1919. I would like
to find out so I will know what town/city to write to for certificate and
also find out what cemetery he is buried in. Rosalie died a widow in 1921
and is buried up in MA. but according to my mother, Joseph is not buried in
the same lot or cemetery. Rosalie was living with one of her children for
the 1920 census. I have Rosalie's obit and it does not mention when and
where Joseph died, just that she was his widow.

Any help in tracking down Joseph's death would be greatly appreciated. The
family went by the name BELISLE in the states but I also threw in his other
surname just in case it might be listed under that name. He came into the
states around 1889 if I can use one of his children's census info.

I cannot drive and it has been almost a year since I have been able to get
to the FHC in our small, rural county.
