Subject: Robinsons of Fluvanna Co. 1780's

Looking for the parents/family of the following Central Virginia
Robinsons, late 1700s:

Ann/Anne/Agness ROBINSON married Benjamin PACE of Goochland, 1784 in
Fluvanna. Bond by Benjamin Pace and John Robinson. John's relationship
not stated. No permission slips on file. (We have assumed that John
was probably either Ann's older brother or father. Strongest evidence
for the brother theory is that the clerk originally mistook John for the
groom, scratched out his name and wrote in Benjamin's in the customary
place on the bond for the first reference to the groom. If this was the
Benjamin we think we has, he was 37 at the time of his first/only
marriage -- a little old for the time and easy to mistake for the
bride's father, especially if he was acompanied by a younger man when
posting the bond.) Ben and Ann Pace are my gggg-grandparents. They lived
in Goochland at first, and then moved to Albemarle Co. VA.

Elizabeth ROBINSON married Frances PACE (we believe he was a cousin
of Benjamin Pace) of Fluvanna in Fluvanna in 1785. Witnesses: Benjamin
Robinson and Benjamin Pace. Elizabeth and Frances started their married
life in Fluvanna, later moved to Pittsylvania Co. VA.

Descendants of Elizabeth & Frances believe that her father was
*probably* a Samuel Robinson, and her likely brothers are Michael, Sam
and William.

Michael Robinson, John Robinson and Frances Pace all served as
witnesses for a 1792 land purchase by Benjamin Pace in Goochland.

We are guessing that Ann Robinson and Elizabeth Robinson are *likely*
to be either sisters or at least cousins.

I've been lurking for a week on this list, and saw the posts this
weekend on Fluvanna/Goochland/Cumberland area Robinsons who would be a
generation or two before Ann, Elizabeth, John and Michael. I'm hoping
someone can shed some light on their families and relationships.

Also, I have transcribed to disc the will of John Robinson of
Cumberland from the 1740's (whose family was listed this weekend). If
anyone would like me to post the full text to the list, just ask. (It
will take a few evenings to find the right disc. Just switched
computers. It's on one of the old backups.)

Many thanks for any leads/sources!
