CHRISTOPHER ROBINSON of Virginia
Son of Peter Robinson, grandson of Christopher Robinson of Cleasby (1),
and nephew of Colonel Beverley Robinson (3).
Entered the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg with his cousin
Robert; he was commissioned into the Loyal Canadian Regiment, and also
seved under Simcoe in the Queen's Rangers; he was present at the
surrender at Yorktown in 1781 as an Ensign.
After the peace he went first to New Brunswick and then to Nova Scotia,
and was granted land in both territories. He then settled in Toronto
where he practised as a barrister, and later moved to Upper Canada where
he was appointed Deputy Surveyor of Crown Lands.
