JOHN ROBINSON of New York

Another son of Colonel Beverley Robinson (3), he was a Lieutenant in the
Loyal American Regiment commanded by his father.

After the peace he settled in New Brunswick, involving himself in
mercantile pursuits, and holding distinguished positions - he was
DeputyPaymaster-General of His Majesty's forces in the province, a
member of the Council, Treasurer of New Brunswick, Mayor of St. John,
and President of the first bank chartered in the colony.

He died in St. John in 1828, aged 67.
