Subject: Nancy RUDD HILLS?
Date: Mon, 3 Apr 2000 10:41:25 EDT
Does anyone have any leads on our Nancy RUDD? She was born late 1700s,
probably in CT, married Jesse HILLS (1773-1852) in CT, and they moved to
Martinsburg, Lewis County, NY to raise their family. Their daughter Mary
married a HOUSE, so there is a connection with the HALE/HOUSE families of CT
here as well. Jesse & Nancy's youngest son, Henry Harrison HILLS (1830-1904)
moved to Iowa to teach, and took his aging mother with him. There he married
Selina MILLER (originally of NY, and also a teacher). Their son Harry Bert
HILLS is my husband's grandfather. Nancy RUDD HILLS died in Iowa, and is
buried near Manchester in Delaware County. We have no information on parents
or siblings, though the common assumption is that she is somehow connected to
Lt. Jonathan RUDD of CT. Any help would be appreciated...we have an aging
aunt who has been looking for this information for about 30 years. Thank
you! Sue
