Does anyone have information on William Rowland Rudd who married Mary Ann
Buddle somewhere in the 1880's (guessing). Mary Ann had a twin sister,
Margaret Susannah Buddle who married Alfred Charles Revell. William and Mary
had 3 children William, Frederick, and Florence Susannah Rudd (my
grandmother). Florence was born September 09, 1897 in Swingate-West Cliff,
Dover, R.D. Her birth was registered in the district of Dover, in the
sub-district of Saint James in the County of Kent. Florence moved to
Detroit, Michigan, USA when she was about 16. Her two brothers were already
here and helped her get here. Mary died when Florence was 9. Florence's
father remarried to a Pauline and has a half sister Margaret Smith who lives
in Sandwich, England. She is probably gone by now. William (Florence's dad)
was a Master Bricklayer. Mary and Margaret were servants when they were
around 16, Mary then entered St. Mary's Workhouse (can't find that info
either). I believe those workhouses were more like prison or a concentration
camp, very sad. This is realy all the information I have on them. I don't
know when Mary and William were born or died, where and when they got
married, where they came from or who their parents are. If any one has
anything, no matter how small, would you please help. Thank you, Paula J.
