Old Mill Museum's archives, research library now on Net.

Journeys into the mystery of bygone days and passed-on relatives have gotten a little easier in McPherson County.

The Old Mill Museum here has made its research library and archives available on an Internet site - www.rootsweb.com/-ksmcrla - after volunteers spent years typing information into computer files.

The new Web site, developed by museum public relations intern Jennifer Meek, a Kansas Wesleyan University student, allows viewers to sift through pre - 1900 indexes from probate records to census records and teacher certificates.

Coming soon are tax records and assessments, one-room schoolhouses files, the 1870 census, plat maps, early land transfer records and several historic family photographs.
