Subject: STARR, Dr. Ezra Platt (CT > PA 1795-1823)
Date: Sun, 14 Mar 1999 09:46:26 EST
When Doctor Ezra Platt Starr moved to Pennsylvania, his traveling companion
was Thaddeus Stevens, who was also from Connecticut. They both lived for a
while in York, Pennsylvania. For some reason, Thaddeus Stevens was denied
practice of law in York County, and moved away to Maryland, and later to
Gettysburg, and later became instrumental in the impeachment of then President
Johnson. Dr. Ezra Platt Starr and wife Evaline had two sons; Alfred Platt
Starr and Ezra Jacob Starr. Ezra Jacob Starr also became a doctor and moved
to Chicago where he died in about 1908 or 1910. Alfred Platt Starr settled on
Littlestown, PA.
