Subject: GenSearch a *one-time* service of GenServ
Date: Tue, 17 Sep 1996 18:38:15 GMT
Dear List Readers...
GenSearch is a *one-time* per e-mail address search service=20
of GenServ. This service allows any e-mail address to request
a search of a single surname with a report, which includes
names, dates and places, and database names for those who
contributed the data. [dates and places if supplied].
=46rom this report, our users are able to query the system and
get detailed reports on individuals, and then contact the submitters
for a one on one regarding their data. =20
In my case, atleast, I found Martin ancestry and contacts that
led me to 6 or 8 generations of more information, and allowed
me to extend my wife's pedigree. I talked to real people via
e-mail, who had extensive books, and GenComs of my wifes
family. So GenServ, is a *great* resourse for meeting and
learning about our family trees.
To use GenSearch *one* time, try using GenCount first. Make
sure that the surname you are interested in is available, and active.
Step 1: Send E-Mail to in the subject
line enter the single surname you are interested in. You may use this
service over and over again to see which surname has the highest
number of hits. [note: ONE surname per message]
Step 2: Once you have found a surname of interest, send an
e-mail message to . In the subject
line place the ONE surname you are interested in. GenServ will
return a search listing of all the occurrances of that surname.
Now you will know the power and versatility of GenServ. Please
check out our home page at the following URL to learn more about
GenServ. We welcome your GedComs and look forward to including
your name amongst the 3300+ users so far, and over 4.620 million
names on GenServ with more being added every day.
