Hello,

This is really a rather long shot since I don't recognise most of the names,
but perhaps worth it as spellings were so varied.

My family connection is with NICOLLS or NICHOLLS. My grandmother's younger
sister, Sarah Jane, b.1869 in Brighton, married a Harry Nicolls b.1867 in
Rottingdean. Sarah, like my grandmother, was baptised at Holy Trinity,
Guildford, her father being from that area. The family kept up the
connections between Surrey and Sussex right up to the 1940s and the Ricketts
children and grandchildren were divided about equally between places like
Woking and Byfleet in Surrey, and Brighton. I only have evidence of 4
daughters of Harry and Sarah from 1891 to 1901 but there could have been
more children.

This Harry is named 'Nicolls' on the 1901 and the FreeBMD (assuming I have
the right one) but Nicholls in 1881. Just to complicate things there's
another on the 1881 census, Harry W.Nicholls, just a couple of years older,
whose father managed the Camden Arms in Kemp St, Brighton. I'm now wondering
which one is Sarah's husband so I'll have to check these out again!

If you need any more details I would be happy to send these. To read more
