I have a copy of the "Genealogical Gazetteer of England". A
typical entry reads:

Petworth
market town parish 1559 Sussex 14 miles ne Chichester pop
3114, arcd and dioc Chichester Indep Wesl. Meth ( in
addition to the Church of England)

The information was originally gathered about 1831. It is
great finding aid for villages/parishes that no longer
exist. I would be happy to provide lookups through Sunday,
