Hello All,

I would like to ask if anyone goes to the record office and if so could someone look for a birth for me please, if it is a free service.
I have found on the FreeBMD a birth of William Latter CHIDDLE born September Qtr. 1883 in Westbourne, Sussex, Ref. 2b.417. The parents I think (hope) may be his are John and Fanny, and I am about 98% sure he is a son, as Fannys' mothers' maiden name was Latter. I cant prove this though as the St.Caths index does not give mothers names until about 1910. William Latter CHIDDLE does not appear on the 1901 census with this family and I havent been able to access the 1891 census. His year of birth shows he would fit into the family and I feel that he would possibly be one of the children because of the middle christian name of Latter.

Other children of the family are Alfred b.1870,: John b.1872,: David b.1875,: Walter b.1878,: Arthur b.1879,: Horace b.1887,: Lucy b.1889. So between Arthur and Horace, William would fit quite snuggly.
