I am trying to trace a Foxall family who were born in Oostende (Austrian Netherlands now Belgium) in the late 1700. My current understanding is that the family left Oostende because of the threat of invasion by the French. Now I believe that this family had relations back in England in the late 1790s early 1800 but I have no idea where apart from a vague clue that is was somewhere in Shropshire, Cheshire or perhaps Oxfordshire.

The Father was William Foxall (aged 35 in 1800) the mother was Mary and the children were Bridget born July 22 1790 and Thomas William born May 7,1792.

I do know that Thomas became a Mariner and settled in Gosport Hampshire aftre 1845, and I believe that Thomas married at least twice .

Any help of suggestion in trying to trace this family between 1800 & 1845 would be gratefully received.

Alan J Foxall
