Hi Everyone on the SWAN Mail List!

Of all of the lists that I administer on rootsweb, this is truly an
international list with nearly 1/2 of the subscribers from Australia, Canada,
New Zealand, the UK, and many other countries. Thanks for your interest and
enthusiasm!

In the US, the SWAN's have been colonials, soldiers of the Revolution,
pioneers, volunteers, and interesting people all around for those of us on
the list that have followed the history of the surname. I would like to
thank the 125+ people that have subscribed to the list this year, and I hope
that you both offer your respective histories and learn at the same time from
others on the list.

One of the sites that I found is the following that offers online photographs
of US Civil War soldiers. There are some SWAN's with photographs that can be
ordered from the Military History Institute. The site is:

I invite everyone on the list to resubmit their interests, queries,
information, or etc., to continue to make this an interesting and informative
