Hello Richard.....yes, I believe this is the same line (shown below) that we
are searching for. I have cut/pasted all the information I have so far.
Most of this is also from Doug Bush.
I'll look forward to hearing from you if you agree.
<snip>
Hello everyone.......I have received some more information: Ward
Tyler's (see below) maternal grandmother was Mary Birdsall, married to
Frank SWAN (she had also been married before, ? on who and they had
children ? also.) Ward's grandfather was Tyler LEWIS and he ran a
cheese factory. Ward's uncle was Max LEWIS and he was married to
Florence ? and they had a daughter named Florence, who was born in
Hollywood CA. Ward's brothers, Donald, Lewis, Ward and Clair all
married in Chautauqua Co., probably Jamestown. Lewis moved to Oregon.
I think he had two sisters, Maxine and Rosslyn who lived in OH.
Lois Arreatha had a sister named Pearl who married in Jamestown about
the same time as Lois and Ward.
PRIOR MESSAGE that I'm adding to:
I'm looking for information on Arreatha SHOEMAKER, b circa 1905 in
Erie Co. or Chautauqua Co. NY. She married John Hoover around the same
area circa 1924-5. Her daughter Lois Arreatha is shown below.
Lois Arreatha HOOVER was born in Jamestown, Chautauqua Co. NY circa
1925 (could be 3 July). She married Ward Tyler SWAN. They were living
in Erie, Erie Co. PA when their daughter Judith Ann SWAN was born on
17 Aug 1943. (Cert. of Birth #636255) Judith Ann married Frederick
James MOOERS, born in OR and they were living in Multnomah Co. OR when
their daughter, Donna Jane MOOERS was born on 21 Jul 1970 (Cert. of
Live Birth #136-70-20107).
I'm not sure, but family history says that Arreatha (SHOEMAKER)HOOVER
was full Seneca Indian of the Iroquois Confederacy. Could someone tell
me how to find out if she is registered/enrolled? I'm familiar with
the Dawes Final Roll, but not of the location or information I would
need to search for Seneca information.
<snip>
I would enjoy sharing/comparing with anyone interested in this family.
