Thanks, Judy,

but John Sevier attended VMI about 1750 to 1770, in that range, as he
was A Col. In Rev. War, 1787, King's Mountain and 37 other battles -
either that or he attended a parent school , like Blount College, where
Sevier was a Board member, became a Board member. It later became UT-
No, not University of Texas, but University of Tennessee at Knoxville,
Tennessee. Hiow can the World Book encyclopediaes say he was a glib
tongued , charming, Frontier politician and land speculator. They stop
short of calling him a con artist and guilty of treason for being
Governor of the Failed State of Franklin , which Congress would not
accept. His granddaughter Sarah Hawkins Clark Wyly had grandchildren who
moved to Central Texas with Latin Vulgate Bibles as Baptists including my
Great Grandfather's brother. William Sevier Wyly, Or "Uncle Bill " to
everyone at Selden, Texas.

His grandad had a library in Traveller's Rest Inn, Toccoa, Ga. in 1812,
which dumbfounded British Tourists from Charleston, S.C. , as most in
that area and day were not well educated and many signed their name with
an X Any education higher than Gov. John Sevier had
(He spoke 5 languages beside some Indian dialects. His grandson Daniel
Sevier or kin was an Indian Agent and one was Arkansas Governor, and
Sevier County, Arkansas was named for him. Grad.\ed. was secured in
England back then- They did not want their colonies to be more
progressive than the home Country, . Thank goodness their efforts failed.

Take care,
Charles A. Wyly
