I have a degree in social work and certificate in gerontology. Also was a
certified AIDS counselor when I worked in FL. I have several lines that I am
researching: Coffee, Knight, Jackson. These folks were in VA and moved on to
KY and AL in early 1800s. they settled in Lauderdale, Co. Peter Coffee came
to colonies in 1730. Wallace, Smith, Mullins/Mullens. Matthew Smith was born
in Londonderry in 1750 and was a patriot. He married Sallie Wallace and they
moved from VA, KY to AL. McKelduff. My grandfather was Lubie McKelduff. He
was born either in MS or AL in 1874. His mother was Sarah Marler and his
father was William P. McKelduff. We can find nothing else on the McKelduffs.
Moss, Berry, Higginbotham. These folks were in Pendelton District SC and
moved on to Myrtle, MS. Just got back for north Alabama where I met a new
"Mull*ns/Smith cousin." James Smith married Nancy Mull*ns and James Mullens,
Nancy's brother, married Rebecca Smith, James' sister. As if things aren't
confusing enough. Betty.
