I am not clear as to what your problem is.
1. You don't have to have any filters to make a narrative report fro
one person, his spouse and descendants. All you need is his ID and a
selections of the report options. There is a descendancy narrative and
a genelaogy report with 4 variations.
2. By convention of the genealogical societies that established the
report formats, a person's birth name is always used in reports. When a
woman marries and assumes her husbands surname, in reports, her birth
name is used.
This convention is widely used, even outside the USA.
