I have also dealt with a number of foreign-language entries, generally
German in my case, but have taken a somewhat different tact. I almost
always fully transcribe the foreign-language entry in the memo, then
enter the double upright slashes [||]followed by an English
translation. The sentence is then usually setup to read something
like: [P1] was christened [D] [L] where the priest/pastor made the
following notation in the church ledger, "[M1]." In English this can
be translated as, "[M2]."
