Terry: here is a "short-cut" of sorts that you might like to try. It
has saved me a great deal of time and aggravation for just the sort of
use you are describing. I was not the person who originally suggested
it, I believe Kirk Ransom was, but I certainly make use of it.
Generate the report you want as usual but save it as an HTML file (I
don't recall just now but it seems that not all of the reports may be
available in this format, but most are). Once you have saved the file,
you can open it in your browser (Netscape, etc) and run it
simultaneously with TMG (different windows). This way you can move
back and fourth instantly between the report and the database.
Furthermore, the HTML format gives you a nice index and TOC, etc as
well as instant link between footnote numbers and footnotes. When
you've made all the corrections and adjustments you like, just delete
the HTML files (there are more than one for each report). Of course
you will probably want to recreate the finished product for review
before actually printing it.
Hope this helps you in generating cleaner reports.
