I have made a tag Govt-Off to record those people in my data set who
were fence viewer, road supervisors etc. I do not record as witnesses
people who are not in my data set. Why clutter it up? These events are
intresting and fill out the family history but are not genealogicaly
significant in themselves.
Make a research task to look at the "suspected family memebers" more
closely in other records such as censuses.
If you are working on this family and do find that some one with the
same name is related, you will remember this source and check it out.
