Peggy,

Regretfully, there is a conflict between TMG, which will accept only 8
character document and folder names, and Windows 95/98, which supports long
document and folder names. The "My Documents" folder has more than 8
characters and won't work for TMG. Sorry!!

I overlooked the TMG subfolder that is custom made for you! - TMGW\Reports.
I assume that you have TMGW on your "C" drive. And let's call your report
Heard1. The path is then C:\TMGW\Reports\Heard1.doc

>From the TMGW person view for your target ancestor the sequence is: Report
-> Descendants -> Journal[Narrative]
In the Report Definition Screen be sure that the destination is File and
the File type is MS Word 97.
The default Directory is likely: Reports\ (C:\TMGW\Reports)
In File Name: <Type> Heard1.doc

When you generate the report, TMG will prompt you to confirm the TMG ID of
the person who appeared in the person view. That's why I suggest that you
start from the person view of your oldest Heard ancestor.

After TMG generates the report, you must tell Word 97 where the document is
located. It is on the"C" drive, in the TMGW folder, and in the Reports sub
folder, hence: C:\TMGW\Reports\Heard1.doc

The Focus should be "Prompt When Generated" and this is a Descendancy
Report so you should not need to worry about a filter.

Now, after you have the report in Word 97, you may want to go back and
customize some of the parameters of the report. However, the TMG default
formats are quite good.

Now, that's better! Hope this helps,

George
