Yes, I know that the Modified Register report does as you described as
well as Pg 83 in the manual.
That is the report that I'm using now and have for some time. Some time ago
the pluses disappeared and I looked throughout the manual and the options
on-line without success. I asked someone at the TMG booth about it and "Oh
that is such and such option that isn't apparent". Sure enough it did the
trick but I didn't write it down on Pg 83 and I'm right back where I was
before. As I remember it was a toggle option and had a general term assigned
to it.

I was looking for a filter because I have more than the eight filter
spaces and I often don't know all of the ancestors in the data set that I'm
working on. You gave me a lead and I got it:
Filter:
Is an Ancestor of Person Number my number and
Sex flag equals m and
Father* ID # is Less than 1 and
Mother* ID # is less than 1
Thanks for the lead - now I have to get the plus sign back.
