And I replied:

>A Journal or register report of all the ancestors of a person without
redundancy or overlap is fairly easily done. The following is from
memory and may not be exactly correct.>

>First a Journal Report is selected and a filtered group is selected for
the originating people. Then a filter of: Is an Ancestor of [?] AND
Father ID# = 0 AND Mother ID# = 0 END is made. This causes the program
to go back to those ancestors that don't have parents and make them the
subject of the descendant report. By default a cross reference to the
first occurance is made for subsequent ones. You run the report
selecting the person for ? and send directly to the word processor
format of your choice. Indexes, endnotes and bibliography can be made.>

>Now I am not certain in what order the ancestors are taken. If you want
them in a certain order you can make a List of People with the same
filter and then in the Genealogy Report use this filter: ID# = x OR ID#
= y etc. to get the order you want.>

The filter came from Allan Mellen. Now some questions:

1 What is the order if the filter is selected in the Genealogy Report

2 In the on screen Genealogy Report Definition Misc nor in the Manual
for it is there any mention of "Repeat Duplicate Lines" as described on
page 51. I know it works as I have generated such a report but is it
automatic in the Genealgy Report?
