There are several approaches to this (as is often the case in TMG).
What I would do is make the tombstoner a Source of the "Cemetery Marker"
category and place all the detail in it or as exhibits to it. I would then
cite that source for all the persons named whether living or dead in
appropriate tags.
The issue of the word "witnesses" is a recurring one on this list. It would
do well many TMG users to refresh to their view of the alternative (and
correct) meanings of the word "witness" in a large dictionary. The
colloquial restricted meaning of the word "witness" to a person that
observes an event or was present at the event is very restrictive within
the possible uses of the word. You will find that the TMG use of the word
is entirely correct.
I would make the persons buried together witnesses of the burial of the
first person (or main person) in the grave. I would like to differentiate
further amongst the different roles of witnesses in such an epitaph but at
the moment there is no way in TMG to do that.
